Aundrea's Christmas program

Aundrea had a Christmas program this year, it was fun to go and watch them all sing. I only had my phone so the pictures are not the best but we got some. We also got some video of them singing. Its kind of wheres waldo, but if you look close sometimes you can see her.

For Thanksgiving this year, Betsy came home. It was so much fun to see her and play. We went to see the lights one night she was here. Seth and Jenn were also here. We rode the train, and we all cold. But it was so much fun to spend time with family over the holidays.

We went to the Ballet to watch the Nutcracker this year, Karen and I took Italia to get there nails done, and then we got all dressed up and met up with everyone to watch the ballet. Aundrea did really good, and she liked it. I noticed 3/4 of the way through she was done. But for a 5 year old, I think that it was good.

Nelson had to have stitches again. He got 5 this time. He was running and fell on the TV stand again. We were really lucky and when we got to the room, How to Train Your Dragon was on and so we got to watch the whole thing and not to long after it was over we got to go home. I took his stitches out at home and that was fun, maybe its worth the hour it takes to get them out!

I took this picture of Nelson, I think its so cute that he sleeps with his arms up like he is just chillaxin. It makes me laugh so hard. But he sleeps like this almost every night.

This is a picture of Aubree from when we went to see the lights. She looks so cute! So far December has been very busy, but with finals over for both Nelson and I we can breath for a bit. I decided since I have a month before school started again that I need to concentrate on loosing weight. I have started the Atkins diet. I started a blog for it, as my journal, but I like reading my sisters blog about her weight loss, and it helps me stay motivated, so I have decided that I will let people know about it and if you want to read it then feel free. We also found out that Nelson most likely has whats called childhood apraxia of speech. Its very hard to diagnose, but his speech therapist yesterday told me she is almost sure that he does. This makes speech hard for him, his brain doesn't communicate with his tongue on how its suppose to work. The treatment is speech therapy. I don't know if we will start more frequent therapy than we are doing, but that is the question that I have for the therapist. Nelson will be in therapy working on his issues for a year or two. So we really hope that insurance will start to help pay for his therapy!

This has been a busy last 6 months. Nelson and I are both full time students, then we have Aubree to take care of, school for the younger kids, and we found out that Nelson is in need of speech therapy. He can not say any of his vowels making it impossible to understand him. He is currently in two classes. This is why I have not had time to update at all. So here is 6 months of updates and pictures. These first set of pictures are swimming lessons this summer, everyone had so much fun, when it was warm. Some mornings it was so cold and Nelson did not like it at all. We were lucky to be able to be able to get them with Amy and Josh. That was a lot of fun.

We are always finding Aubree doing weird things. I found her eating off the floor one day. It is a good thing that my mom keeps the floors so clean, she was still on steroids here, and had a very weak immune system.

Nelson and Aundrea learned to ride two wheelers this summer. Nelson was first, because of his balance bike he was better at his regular bike with no training wheels then his bike with training wheels. Aundrea saw that he was riding without training wheels so she wanted hers off, we started a trend in our court and after that there were 6 or 7 kids who had their training wheels off. Its much nicer taking their bikes out when they dont have training wheels to get in the way.

We were able to do a lot of fun things this summer, we had to find things to do outside with Aubree and one of those places was Red Butte Gardens. We weren't prepared with swimsuits but that didn't stop our kids, they finally got dry after getting wet and they had lots of fun.

Nelson and Aundrea started school this year. Aundrea started kindergarten with her friends, and gets to ride the bus. She loves it. Nelson started preschool three days a week. This is suppose to help him with his speech therapy.
We got a lot of garden vegetables this year from my parents. We got a couple of huge banana squashes, and Aundrea was not a fan. This night I told her she had to eat all of her squash to get a chocolate donut. She didnt believe me, here is her story eating her squash.

Aundrea has started dance class again this year. It was the only activity that she was able to stay in all of last year. She loves it. This year she gets to be in dance class with her cousin, and thinks that is so great!

My daughter is vain. She makes me take pictures of the back of her head to make sure that her hair looks as cute as I tell her it does.

Nelson started T-ball this year. He's not to crazy about it but he always had fun when we made him go. He does like his baseball hat, but he has asked to be in soccer next time.

Nelson's preschool went to a pumpkin patch this year. Aundrea was out of school so she got to come with us. We had lots of fun picking them out and then carving them.

Nelson is teaching Aubree all sorts of things. Some I'm not too excited about and some are just funny. She watches TV like no other child her age I have ever seen before. I kinda think its because she was in the hospital so much and that is what we did, she was to sick to do much else then let me hold her.

It snowed here last weekend, so I took my kids outside while Aubree was sleeping, (Nelson had drill) We had fun in the snow, and Aundrea started making a snowman all on her own and wouldnt let us go in till it was done. We were out for over an hour, but they had lots of fun.

Halloween

Halloween is a bittersweet time for me. Last year Aubree was diagnosed on Halloween, there was no trick o treating. This is the last picture we took the day before tick or treating at my sisters work. Its seems like a different world to me. If Aubree was ever as sick as she seemed to be then, I would be on the phone talking to Dr's and she would be admitted way before she ever got as sick as she was. Of course part of the problem was that she did not have an immune system to fight off her cold, the reason she get getting more sick.But this Halloween was a lot of fun.

4th of July

It has been so nice to be able to be home and celebrate the holiday's like you should be able to, not in the hospital! The 4th was a lot of fun. We started the day with going for a drive up immigration canyon. I have been biking up it, and have not made it to the top yet, so I wanted to see what was left in store for me. Nelson Leland decided he had to go pee, and I thought it was just to funny that I had to take a picture. Later we went to my parents house for a BBQ and then off to fireworks in Sandy. I was so excited because the Dr's said that it would be ok for us to take Aubree. We sat off away from the crowd and it was so much fun to be able to have all of us there, not just those who were not with Aubree.

Princess Festival

I was able to take Aundrea to the princess festival a couple of weekends ago. She had so much fun. We were able to go with Karen and Italia, so it was just us girls. This is Aundrea before her hair was done. When you walked in they were doing hair and painting nails. Aundrea loved getting her hair done.

You were then able to go and listen to the stories of the princesses. Aundrea is here with the 12 dancing princesses learning a dance that they were able to perform.

You were also able to do crafts for other children who were in need. They were making bows and here Aundrea is coloring a book mark. All these donations stayed in Utah.

We had such a fun time just being girls. It was fun for Aundrea to be able to get a tierra and necklace, that she later lost. They loved being able to dress up, and the best of all was meeting all of the princesses they love hearing about.

Nelson's first stiches

Nelson is a boy's boy, and I am really surprised that up to now that he has never had stitches. Last night was the end of that, I had a neighbor and Aundrea show up at Aubree's room saying Nelson was down stairs in the ER with a huge gash on his head. I hear that he hit is head on our TV stand somehow. He was really good, and with a little versed, good as gold. He held really still for it and they were able to stitch him up with 13 stitches. Sorry the pictures are in backward order!

Easter

With Aubree out of the hospital, well kind of out of the hospital, we have been able to do things. We were all together for Easter this year and it was so much fun. It was the last activity with Betsy before she left to Canada. We were able to color eggs (Aubree and I weren't there for that) and hunt eggs and then had a great dinner on Sunday. It was a great 3 days! They also got to go and see Rio. There is a organization that has activities for families that have children with cancer. Its called hope kids, they get shirts to wear to the activities. I was suppose to go to the movie with them, but I was up at the hospital again with Aubree so my mom took them. They had fun!

So I know that most of you who would read this blog probably read my other blog as well, but I thought I would post a little something here just so I had my bases covered. And I am waiting for Aubree to wake up so I can feed her! HA, Two months ago our lives were changed forever with the diagnosis of Luekemia. Our 5 month old baby has cancer. You can read about her at Aubreesfight.blogspot.com and I will do most of my posting there. I do need to everyonce in awhile I am sure post here about things that happen with my other children, but since I spend all my days in the hospital maybe Nelson will take over for this site, if not, then I will be back later.

It has been awhile since I have posted anything. I think since school started, its been crazy with all that is going on around here. Nelson and I are both in school again and Nelson is working part time. We really dont have a lot of time for anything else but we have managed to get something done. Here are some pictures of Aundrea's Birthday, we went to a real swimming pool, the kids had so much fun! Nelson is Potty Trained!

I have been wanting to potty train Nelson for some time but I didnt because we were going to have a new baby. I realized after Aubree was born that it was really expensive to have two children in diapers, so I decided that I would potty train when Aubree was about 6 weeks. I didnt really go for it to much because I was still so tired, but Nelson decided that he wanted to. I dont take much credit for it because it was mostley him who did it. He did poop on himself a couple of times and that was enough to get him to the toilet. He is still tramatized by it and can tell you all the places he got poop on him and pooped in the house. Its so cute to hear him tell you, but kinda sad because he gets so upset by it. We are so proud of him and so glad that we dont have to change is diapers anymore! :)

Aundrea's Dance Recital

Aundrea had her end of year dance recital yesterday. It was fun to watch what she has learned! She did so good, and was really excited to perform. She also had to stay and watch all the other dances. She really enjoys dancing and watching dancing. She is loving that so you think you can dance is on again. Anything to do with dancing for her. Aubree Lynn is here finally! She was born on June 1 at 7:09 pm and weighed 8 pounds and 2 ounces. Aundrea and Nelson love her! Aundrea thinks that she is her little mom and loves to hold her and even asked if she could feed her! HA I am breastfeeding so I told her that she could only hold her. She chooses out all her outfits and makes sure she always has her binki in her mouth. Nelson thinks she is great also. He likes to tell me that she is a baby all the time and since Aundrea wont touch poopy diapers, Nelson has taken it on the task to through away all the poopy diapers for me! That is heaven sent because she likes to poop! We love her so much already and are so excited to watch her grow!

I know that I have posted a lot lately but after the baby comes I just know that I wont be posting very much, so I am trying to play catch up before this all happens. Nelson asked me to put a vidoe of Nelson Leland on his balance bike. So here is one, its two weeks after he first started and he is even better now. He loves to go and ride his bike with the big kids and he can keep up with them, even though they have pedals and he doesnt. Its so much fun to watch him grow and see the things that he is able to pick up!

Aundrea's Last Day of Preschool

Yesterday was Aundrea's last day of preschool this year. She had a little program where they sang songs and then we watched a little dvd with pictures from the year. It was really cute every time Nelson Leland saw a picture of Aundrea he would turn to me and yell her name just in case I didnt see her. Airplane Museum

When Nelson was on break and in the whirlwind of moving we took one day to go up to the Hill Airforce Airplane Museum. Nelson Leland loves airplanes and so we thought it would be so much fun for him. It was and he loved it! I am putting a vidoe up with him playing with an airplane he got its cute, big Nelson did the camera for it so you get my leg for a little bit while he figures out how to turn off the camera :)

Nelsons Birthday

So even though I was not feeling like doing anything for Nelsons birthday I decided that I had better at least have a cake for him. Since we had Betsy's shower on Saturday I thought that we would do it on Friday, and that was his offical birthday anyway. We had family come over and we did a little dinner and had cake and ice cream. It was a lot of fun, the kids had so much fun playing together. It was good to see everyone and to have help from so everyone to make sure that Nelson got a birthday party. And thanks for the great presents! We didnt need to get him anything because he loved everyone elses soooo much!

I know its been awhile since I have posted anything but I have just downloaded the easter pictures so I thought that I would try to post them. This year Aundrea had a easter egg hunt at school and sang us a song. It was really cute, but very windy. We also got together with the cousins for easter egg decorating and an egg hunt. It was so much fun.

Nelson is a Citizen

I guess one of the perks of being military is that they process your applications on immigrations really fast! We applied for citizenship for Nelson about 1 1/2 months ago, and everything happened so fast. We had his citizenship interview today and then he took the oath about 15 minutes later. We are so excited for him!

Aundrea's Dance Recital

Aundrea had her first dance recital this past Saturday. She was so excited to go and dance with her friends in their new costumes. When we first got there she was shaking so bad and I was nervious that she wouldn't dance because she was so nervious. But she stopped shaking and then decided it was time to dance. She went up to the front by the stage and wouldnt come back to where we were sitting because she was going to dance. She did really good and we are so proud of her. We had a video of it but it got deleted so if I can get it from some of the other moms I will post it. I went to the Dr's today and found out that we are going to have another little girl. We are so excited!

Another Snow Day

With all the snow we have been getting the last couple of weeks, we decided to take the kids out to the park with some sleds. It wasnt all that great of a hill, and they didnt get going fast at all, but they had so much fun. They ask all the time if they can go on the sleds again.

HALLOWEEN

It was a good Halloween, we had Aundreas preschool Halloween parade and we also got to go trick-or-treating. Aundrea had to be Thumbalina this year. I was going to have her wear one of her many princess costumes, but she informed me ealier this week that she was going to be Thumbalina. I was really lucky to find the costume since I went shopping 5 days before Halloween, but Aundrea was really excited about it. I was going to have Nelson wear the skunk costume, but I realized that it was a 12 month costume so Karen found the Monkey costume for me! He was really cute.

First Snow

It was the first snow of the season and it stuck to the ground. Aundrea saw that and had to get on all the gear to go outside and play in it. She had a lot of fun, Nelson wasnt so sure about it, being his first snow to play in, he was to young last year. But we stayed out for a little over a half hour and I thought that was good since there wasnt really any snow to play in!! I was lucky I had enough gear for both kids, but thanks to Josh we were able to find his old stuff for both of them. :)

Nelson's Home

So I promised my mom that I would do a much better job on updating my blog for her while she is gone, so I am going to try. I have been so busy with kids and school and such that I havent had much time to blog. But I do want Grandma and Grandpa to know what is going on back here in Utah. I will also have to get better at taking pictures. Nelson has been home for a week and I took one picture even though we have been out almost every day doing things on Aundrea's list that she made of things that she wanted to do with Papi. (She started the list about 2 months ago) But the pictures I posted are of the airport when we went and picked up Nelson. We made a big deal out of it and I let Aundrea make a poster to take to the airport with us. It was fun, late at night, but we are just so glad to have him back and dont want him to have to leave anytime soon!!!

Our Summer so far....

I have been getting emails about updating my blog. So since I have all three kids watching TV this morning, well two and Nelson is playing very happily, I figured this was as good of time as I was going to get! It has been a very busy summer with family. Spencer and his family were here for 4 weeks and we played pretty hard with them. Before that it was getting Nelson ready to go. So we have finally slowed down a bit, well my kids have but being on only parent I dont think I will slow down till Nelson comes home! Nelson is doing good, he says basic training is one of the hardest things that he has ever done, but is glad he is doing it. His last letter he wrote he talked about going to the gas chamber. If that wasnt bad enough they woke them up in the middle of the night to do it. HA I am so glad I am here and not there! So anyway here are some pictures of some summer fun. Enjoy.

We went to This is the Place Park on free day, Josh and Aundrea just had to test this out.

It was so hot that day, it was a good thing they were giving out free Popsicles!

These guys love riding horses! Aundrea was very brave this time and did it by herself and loved it!

We got these "passports" to take with us as we visited different areas of the park. We got a stamp at each stop. Aundrea loved this, she was very proud that she got all her stamps.

Aundrea got ahold of my camerae and took some pictures! She is such a good camerae person!

We took the train to Temple Square one day, everyone loves to ride the train. We had lots of fun looking at the sights of Salt Lake City.

We went to Heber for a Family Reunion, this is at the fireworks for the fourth. We had sparklers and necklaces to make before hand. It was awsome.

We went to the parade in Provo that morning. Aundreas favorite part of the parade were all the people dressed just like her papi.

Betsy was really good to help me with my hair, we had to take a picture to make sure that it looked ok since we didnt have a mirror.

We went fishing the first day we were there. Alan was the only one that caught a fish.

Aundrea didnt have a fishing pole so I made her one with a stick. It didnt have a hook because I wasnt going to be eating any fish that she caught!

We went the the Temple open house, it was really a beautiful place.

Its Official

For sometime Nelson and I were trying to find a way to pay for school since the student loans total just kept growing to a much larger number then we wanted to. So we decided that Nelson should join the National Guard to help pay for school and get the money that we need to live on. He was sworn in today and he leaves for boot camp June 22. He will be a cannon crew member, and will be gone for about 4 months. We are excited for him but the kids and I will really miss him when he is gone.

Aundreas New Bike

We decided it was a good time to buy Aundrea her first real bike. She has been riding a little one and was getting really good at it. So we went to the store and she picked out the bike that she liked, of course it was a princess bike. She wouldnt get off of it when we told her we were going to buy it, so she rode it through the store and out to the car. When we got home it continued and everyone got in on the action. Nelson and Josh both had to try it out, and Josh had to ride bikes with her. We bought Nelson a ball to play with while we are out in the front with Aundrea and he loves it. He chases it around the yard trying to pick it up and and when he finally does get it he carries it around until he drops it and it starts all over agian. Who knew that a ball would be so much fun and take so much time!

Summer

Its been awhile since I have posted anything, but I thought that I should get on since I have a second and post some pictures. Things have been crazy the last couple of months. Nelson started crawling and then walking. He also puts anything and everything in his mouth and that has kept me so busy. I was also able to finish my class this spring and Nelson is out of class so things have gotten better, not so busy. But with summer coming we have started spending most of our time outside, swimming in the backyard, not being sick!

Nelson turned 1 last week, its hard to believe its already been a year, hes walking and climbing and getting into everything. He has become a person to Josh and Aundrea and they like to play with him and take his toys. He loves the toys he got from his Aunts, I feel a little better that he doesnt have to play with so many pink toys and dolls. HA

Finally

So it has been a long time since I have posted anything. Things have been really crazy. Aundrea is almost potty trained and Nelson Leland is crawling and keeping me all sorts of busy! He also is pulling himself up on everything!! So I am constantly going to get him because he cant get down or he has fallen and hit his head somewhere and is hurt. Aundrea is almost fully potty trained and this time around it wasnt as bad as the first. I was going to wait until this summer, but she was ready again so I decided to go ahead and just do it. I am glad I did because its going to save me a lot! I cant go into costco and just buy diapers, its crazy. We celebrated Nelsons birthday and that was fun, my mom brought a pinyata and Aundrea and Josh thought that was a lot of fun so much candy and it wasnt Halloween!

Christmas Lights

We went to go and see Christmas lights on Friday. It was a lot of fun. Aundrea and Nelson Leland loved it. Aundrea loved being outside and running around as always and the lights were an added benefit. My parents came with us and that was fun. We rode the train up and back and that was fun. I was glad we went when we did because it wasnt to cold and it looks like its not going to get warm anytime soon!

Its been awhile since I have posted anything, we have all been sick and so not many pictures. But here are some from the Festival of the Trees. We had a lot of fun and everyone loved the lights!

More Halloween

Ok so Betsy is great and I was able to get some pictures from her website. Aundreas present from Grandma and Grandpa was a traditional dress from Ecuador. She loves it and puts it on all the time. She wore this the first part of the day for Halloween. I didnt get a picture of her in it at all, so I was glad that someone else did! Thanks Betsy!

Pumpkin Patch and Halloween

I am so behind! A little over three weeks ago we went out to pick out the pumpkins to carve this Halloween. It was so much fun to go out in the field and find them. We never did get around to carving them till Halloween day but it was fun. We also had fun trick-o-treating. My parents came home a couple of days before so we had the whole family over and we had spooky food before. The mummy dogs were the hit of the party, and the witch brewing rootbeer. I didnt get many pictures, I wasnt feeling good, later found out that I had pneumonia. HA.

Dress Up

Josh got his spider man for halloween and has been wearing since, we were at costco and found more cute coustumes and he has been wearing them since. Aundrea got some princess dresses and they like to wear their dress up stuff together. Its a lot of fun and really cute!

The Train

We went and rode trax this week. It was exciting for Josh, Aundrea and Italia to go on the train. We were quit the site to see, trying to get on and off the train with a three year old two two year olds and a stroller. HA! But it was fun and I am glad that we went.

OK so I know I am loosing it! I couldnt understand why Missy started a new blog because her comment button wasnt working. I had never seen them before. Today I was reading Karalees blog and low and behold, the comment button. So thanks to everyone that has been making comments on my blog, I didnt get them! But now I can and who knows maybe I can leave comments for yall! Maybe that extra sleep from not having Aundrea in my bed is helping :)~

Play Room

Ok so I dont know if I am crazy or not, but since Aundrea wasnt using her room, yes she sleeps in my bed, I decided to turn her room into a play room and put all the toys there instead of the front room. I love it! I still get toys out everywhere, but on days that I am to tired to clean I can pick the toys up and put them in the toy room and shut the door. I still have to use her closet for her and Nelsons clothes but it works. And to make it all that much better, since her bed is in my room, 2 feet away, she stays in her bed a lot. Maybe 25% of the time is she in my bed, and that is usually when I am to asleep to even notice that she gets in my bed. Its been so nice to sleep without having a foot in my face all night!

Wonders

We are constantly in awe of Nelson and how fast he is growing. Yesterday he seemed bored and was really cranky, so I thought that I would pull out the activity center and see if he liked it or not. He does, he loves it! He also fits and that is almost more impressive to me. When I put Aundrea in the activity center at 6 months we had to put phone books at the bottom so she could touch something with her feet. Not Nelson, it fits him like a glove! Of course Aundrea and Josh love it also and he cant play by himself, hopefully after its not so new that they will let him play!

The State Fair

We went to the state fair last week. We had lots of fun looking at the animals. Josh and Italia really enjoyed a pony ride. Aundrea was to scared and didnt want to do it but she watched. For lunch I was able to get a philly cheese steak. It was so good, I dont think that I have had one that good since I was back Philly.

Shopping

My sister showed me a new way of shopping. We were at Walmart and we put Aundrea and Italia in one shopping cart with Mcdonalds, we then had one shopping cart for food. It was awsome because they didnt get bored while we were shopping. We tried it with Josh, Aundrea and Italia and it went well. I might be able to go shopping all by myself soon! Wont that be an adventure!

Today we went to go and get Aundreas two year pictures and Nelsons baby pictures. This was a lot of fun!! The day started with Aundrea refusing to put on the pants that I got her to wear, she will only wear skirts and shorts. Its going to be a fun winter!! So I packed the two kids in the car with a shirt and boots on Aundrea. We stopped at the store and I took her in and picked out a skirt put it on her and then bought it. I should have taken a picture of her in her shirt and diaper while we were waiting! We got to the studio and it went good, we got some decent pictures. Audrea was a lot harder then Nelson, her fear of everything came out and the place to stand was above the floor so she was scared and didnt want to be up there. But we made it, and even managed to get out in time to go and get Josh from preschool!

First Day of Dance Class

We went to our first day of dance class. It was a lot of fun! Josh is a good sport and went with us and he had fun also. When we were getting into the car this morning Josh kept telling Aundrea that she was a princess because of her dance outfit. Then he told her that we were going to dance class and did a little spin. So cute! Aundrea and Josh loved it. It was also fun because Italia is in the class with us. We are learning how to follow directions and how to find the beat of the songs. They did really good, and we are so excited to go back next week.

Jungle Jims

While Nelson was out of school we were able to spend some time with him. Aundrea loved it. When Nelson started class again she would go downstairs and start calling for Papi, even though he wasnt home. One of the days we went to Jungle Jims. Once again Josh rode some rides and Aundrea watched and then played some of the games that they have there.

Petting Zoo

Last week Amy mentioned that there was a petting zoo that was pretty cheap. Lunch at the park is over and we are so bored. We dont know what to do during the day and the backyard really does become boring at some point. Who would have thought. So I got Karen to come with me and take the Kids. I am still not brave enough to take all three by myself! :) It was a lot of fun. Italia and Josh both rode the ponies and petted the animals. Aundrea played with the hand soap and watched the animals. She would not touch any of the animals. She did enjoy looking at them though. Josh and Italia seemed to have a really good time petting the animals and they both loved riding the ponies. Its days like these that I can and decided to stay home and not work.

Nelsons Blessing and Aundreas Birthday

We decided to have Aundreas birthday party and bless Nelson on the same day. A lot less work for me. :) It was so much fun. We had church at 1 and we blessed Nelson Leland. Nelson did a good job. After we went home and had a dinner. Nelson bbq'ed while I got the rest of the food out. We were able to just relax and enjoy the company. Aundrea is really into Princesses so we had a princess birthday cake that she loved. She was able to blow out her own candles this year. (with a little help from Josh because he was so excited about the cake!) Aundrea really scored with the presents. One of the favorites was the big pink horse. Some of Nelsons friends brought that for her, and then Josh gave her a pet salon with a blow dryer that makes noise. That has been a lot of fun! It was so good to get the family together and let the cousins play. I think Nelson and Aundrea had a good time.

A bit of Heaven

This for sure was a bit of Heaven for me today! I had all four kids taking a nap at once! I had Josh and Italia today plus Aundrea and Nelson. This was an accomplishment if every way for me!

We went to the Dr last week for well child checks, Aundrea got off easy with no shots and Nelson not so lucky. He had 3 in his legs. The Dr told me to put Nelson in the tub to soak for 1/2 an hour to help his legs feel better. I dont usually use the baby bath tub, I put him in the big tub with Aundrea and just hold him. But since I was going to have to leave him in the tub for so long I got the baby tub out. Aundrea thought that it was great! She wanted in so bad and I kept telling her no that it was for Nelson. The second that I took him out, in she went. She stayed and played in there for 45 minutes. I dont know why it was so much fun, as you can see she did not have much room. But she was happy so I let her stay. The things kids do!

Red Butte Gardens

Red Butte Gardens is free to get into 3 times a year. So we decided to take advantage of that today. We got up and instead of going to the parade headed to Red Butte Gardens. It was a lot of fun! We spent most of our time in the Childrens Garden where Josh and Aundrea had a lot of fun! Josh really liked the water and Aundrea really liked to pretend she liked the water. She wouldnt get wet, but she had fun running away from the water. Josh really liked the Birthday cake and the snake head. (It had water) It was fun and always fun when Nelson can come with us!

Aundreas first ponytail!

This may not seem big to some, but Aundrea hates to have her hair touched. She hates it so much she will by pass her bath, which she loves, just so that she doesnt have to have her hair washed! But lately she has let me start doing her hair! I finally got a ponytail! She looked really cute! Just another one of my battles won! It was great.

The Hike

We took Aundrea and Nelson on their first hike! Since I am no longer pregnant and Nelson is old enough to be out and about, we took the plung. Aundrea loved it, she walked the whole way. We went to Doughnut Falls, not a very long or hard hike, but it was a lot of fun. Nelson Leland also loved it. He was awake and alert the whole time. He looked around at all the trees. We did forget our bug spray and really wished that we had some there, but we made it without to many bites.

Swimming

Finally we were able to go and swim in the backyard! Since the sod is dying that Nelson and Alan laid last week we were able to get the swimming pool out today and play in it. They had so much fun! It was nice because it was so hot and we are always looking for things to do in the afternoon. To bad the sod is coming up tonight and we will have another three weeks before we can even think about swimming again! We had fun today.

West Fest

We went to Westfest this year. It was the week before the 4th of July. It was a lot of fun. We got Aundrea to sit on two rides but she only rode on the fire truck. The car she sat down and then decided she didnt want to go and started crying. At that point Josh decided he didnt want to ride with Aundrea so we didnt get her on anymore rides. But she seemed to have fun walking around and watching Josh ride the rides! Later that night we went to the park by the house and watched fireworks with Amy and Alan. It was a fun weekend. For the 4th Nelson and Alan laid sod in the backyard so I was glad we got out this weekend.

Wheeler Farm

Amy took the day off on Friday and we went to Wheeler Farm. It was so much fun, I dont think that Aundrea has seen most of the animals on a farm in real life so we had lots of fun. Aundreas fears came out and she wouldnt walk on the wood floors because of the cracks. It was really cute sometimes. Josh had so much fun with the tractors! We really wished that Grandpa Shumway was there to play on them with him. Maybe next time.

Aundrea loves her brother!

Aundrea really loves her brother and loves to help mommy with him. She is always trying to carry him around. She does but then I get mad at her and she has to put him down. Today she was by him and there was a bottle and he was crying so she put the bottle in his mouth to eat. She is such a good big sister!

The Zoo

We went to the Zoo last friday. It was fun to be able to have Nelson with us. Aundrea really enjoyed having her Papi with us. We went so slow. Karen rented a wagon for everyone to ride in but Josh, Aundrea and Italia walked most of the way. They dont walk very fast when looking at things. It felt like we didnt get anywhere but we did and the kids had so much fun.

The Summer so Far

This summer so far has been been going to the park for lunch and riding our bikes. The backyard is not done yet so we have been creative.The school district in our area gives out free lunch to children everyday at different parks. The park right by our house is one of them so we go and get lunch everyday. It saves me time and Josh and Aundrea love it! We then go home and take a nap and then we ride bikes. Josh got a new bike not to long ago and he loves to ride it. Aundrea thinks its great fun to ride her bike also! It has been a lot of fun! We are excited for the backyard to get done though!

Welcome to our blog. Nelson really wanted me to do this so that his mother can get on and look at the pictures of her grandchildren. So I am doing it. I never thought that I would get up with the times and have our own blog, but I guess I will. I hope that you enjoy everything that I post here.
